North Alabama Educators Credit Union was established in 1955 to serve employees of the local educational community. Office operations began in Huntsville, Alabama and have expanded over the years to include a branch location in Athens. The credit union now serves over 11,800 members and has accumulated over $78,000,000 in total assets.

North Alabama Educators Credit Union follows the philosophy of "Not for Profit, not for Charity, but for Service". The credit union exists for the sole purpose of serving the financial needs of our membership. Account holders at North Alabama Educators Credit Union are referred to as "members" because they actually own a share of the credit union. The members own the credit union and receive value through lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and reduced service fees.

For eligible members, a $25.00 share deposit in our regular shares is all that is required for credit union membership. There is no initial fee for joining the credit union. There are no ongoing fees to remain a member.
